J GIRA – 1^ST Assistant Director
JGIRA started making skateboard videos when he was 13 years old. After high school graduation he picked up his father’s old super8mm camera and went down to Bolivia to join a photo journalist friend and document the sojourn. When he returned home he entered the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor's film and video program. His first film NO OUTLET won best experimental film and then his thesis film NEXT DOOR went on to win Best Film for 1999, as well as was accepted into the 2000 Student Academy Awards. He headed down to N. Carolina after graduation to help start the in-house productions for a young new media company called Zoom Culture. Once things got "up and running" he headed out on a cross-country trip that crash landed in Hollywood, CA where he currently resides.
